Hi Guys,
please make sure to finish up the unit Inf. 2 on Duolingo before midnight tomorrow.
For Friday bring the 3 grammar topics you feel you need to work on. Also don't forget that now that you are working on your project 1, you need to be reading about the topic.
Finally, remember that this Saturday your first Listening activity is due. I will post it soon.
Be on time, Jinit, our new international assistant will be with us during the first half of the class period this Friday.

Class on Monday
Hi guys,
I would like you to go back to the folder where you submitted the summaries of articles. Choose at least 3 papers from 3 classmates and read their summaries. I would like you to get more ideas about the topic of study abroad. Now, based on your own summary and those of your classmates, I would like you to think of your own topic and a questions that you will try to answer through your project. For example, imagine that after these readings you wonder about the topic of romantic relationships and you ask the question: Why do people who study abroad end up married with people from the foreign country visited? This is a dumb example, just for the sake of exemplifying.
Bring your topic and question on Monday. Write them on a piece of paper. You will be asked to talk about your summaries, topic and question.
Have a great weekend!

Assignment for Friday
Hi guys,
For Friday, please read the assignment sheet of project 1 on the materials page. In order to get yourself familiarized with the topic of the project, search on Google or the University library online resources for three articles on the topic of studying abroad. Read them and write a short summary about them, at least 2 paragraphs per article.
In your paper include:
1. Your name.
2. Title of articles
3. your summaries.
4. Bibliography (include the bibliography at the end, in case I want to check the article). Remember a summary is not cutting and pasting, it is presenting the main ideas of the text in your own words. If you take something from the original article, you need to use quotes.
Be ready to present the articles in class.
Upload the summary BEFORE class on Friday. Name your file with your name, e.g. Andres_Santos. I have already sent an email sharing with you the Google Drive folder of the class.
See you soon,
José A.
